RENNY MASLOW

Born and raised in New York City and now based in Los Angeles, Renny Maslow uses photography to explore our relationship with the physical world and to find the beauty and order within the grit and chaos of urban landscapes.

After studying film at Northwestern University in Chicago, Maslow began his career as a film editor in New York.  Having established a unique comedic voice that is both understated and highly visual, he moved onto directing commercials through US/UK production company SMUGGLER.  Directing hundreds of ads for brands like ESPN, M&M’s, Apple and British Telecom, he worked with the likes of Lebron James, Jimmy Fallon and John Cena.  This included Super Bowl Ads for BUD LIGHT and The NFL on FOX which earned Maslow an EMMY AWARD for Best Sports Promo.  He is currently represented by CHROMISTA for commercials.

Throughout his extensive travels as a director, Maslow would savor the opportunity to explore these new environments with his still camera… documenting the different characters, architecture and societal systems for living.

In 2020, Maslow brought focus to a photographic project called SIGNS OF LIFE.  The body of work explores a lifelong preoccupation with finding a unifying beauty inside the chaos and conflict of manmade structures as they invade and overtake nature.  SIGNS OF LIFE debuted in April 2024 at The Good Mother Gallery in Los Angeles and showed in August 2024 in Ojai California.
